Akron Children’s Hospital

Akron Children’s Hospital - Kay® Jewelers Pavilion & Concourse Parking Garage

The Kay® Jewelers Pavilion of Akron Children’s Hospital is a 368,735-square-foot, seven-story medical tower. The facility includes a 100-bed NICU with private rooms, a high-risk delivery area, an emergency department, outpatient surgery center, and a special delivery unit for high-risk births.

Akron Rebar Company was a crucial part of constructing the two-way flat slabs requiring 1,100 tons of rebar. Reinforcement steel was supplied, fabricated and installed by Akron Rebar Company on schedule, in association with Baker Concrete and under direction of Welty Building Company. The entire project was finished ahead of projected timelines.

GARAGE

The 1,250-space parking garage connected to the Kay® Jewelers Pavilion by an enclosed concourse contains 180 tons of rebar that was fabricated and supplied by Akron Rebar Company.
